Set up Zoho Recruit for your hiring team
Connecting Zoho Recruit takes a few minutes. Most of the thought goes into where the alerts land, since candidate details are personal. Here’s the order that works.
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”- Pick who connects it. Freesbe works as the Zoho Recruit user who connects it and sees only the records they can see. A Zoho Recruit administrator is best: if a recruiter connects it and later leaves, alerts stop when their user is deactivated.
- No need to know your data center. Zoho sends you to your own (the United States, Europe, India, Australia and so on) when you sign in, and Freesbe keeps to it.
- Make a private channel for the hiring team, such as
#hiring, before adding alerts.
Connect the organization
Section titled “Connect the organization”- In Freesbe, open Workspace settings → Integrations & apps → Integrations → Recruiting and find Zoho Recruit.
- Click Connect Zoho Recruit.
- Sign in to Zoho as the user you picked and click Accept.
- Back in Freesbe, Zoho Recruit shows Connected, your organization’s name and its data center.
Send alerts where people act on them
Section titled “Send alerts where people act on them”Add one alert for each conversation alerts should start:
| Channel | Alerts to post |
|---|---|
#hiring (private) |
New candidates, Candidates changing status, Interviews scheduled |
#recruiters |
New job openings |
#general |
Candidates hired |
Under Zoho Recruit alerts, click Add alert, pick the channel and the alerts, and click Add alert. Then use Send a test alert from the alert’s ⋯ menu to see where it lands.
A hire posted to #general is a nice way to welcome someone, but it shows their name and new
title to everyone in the channel. Only do it once the offer is public.
Zoho Recruit sends Freesbe each change as it happens, so alerts arrive within seconds. They start with what happens after you add them.
Decide on link previews
Section titled “Decide on link previews”Previews show a candidate’s status, title and owner under any Zoho Recruit link someone posts. They’re on by default. Everyone in the conversation sees them, guests included, so if your recruiters share channels with clients or agencies, consider turning Show a preview under Zoho Recruit links off.
After the first week
Section titled “After the first week”- Ask the team which alerts they skim past. Candidates changing status is the busiest: move it to its own channel, or leave it out, if it drowns out interviews and hires.
- Check Last alert under each alert: one that never posts usually points at a status your organization renamed or a channel nobody needs.
See Zoho Recruit for every option. Something not working? See Zoho Recruit alerts aren’t posting.
