Post Better Stack incidents to a channel
Connecting Better Stack takes about five minutes. You need a Freesbe admin and an admin of your Better Stack team.
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”- Make the channel first, such as
#uptime, and add the people on call. - For the buttons, you’ll need an Uptime API token from Settings → API tokens in Better
Stack, and your team’s address (
https://uptime.betterstack.com/team/123456).
In Freesbe
Section titled “In Freesbe”- Open Workspace settings → Integrations & apps → Integrations → Monitoring and click Connect under Better Stack.
- Name it (Better Stack: production) and pick the channel.
- Optional: fill in Better Stack team address and API token.
- Click Connect Better Stack and copy the Freesbe URL (it’s shown once).
In Better Stack
Section titled “In Better Stack”- Open Uptime → Integrations and add a Webhook.
- Name it
Freesbe, paste the URL in Webhook URL, keep incident started, acknowledged and resolved on, and save it. - If your monitors alert through an escalation policy, add the webhook to it.
Split monitors across channels
Section titled “Split monitors across channels”Connect Better Stack once per channel, with a webhook for each, and put each webhook in the escalation policy of the monitors it’s for.
See Better Stack for everything the cards show. If nothing arrives, check the webhook is in the monitor’s escalation policy, then that Incidents to post isn’t set to Critical only.
