Delete your account
You can delete your Freesbe account yourself, at any time. Nothing disappears the moment you click: you leave your workspaces and are signed out at once, and the account is deleted 30 days later. Until then you can keep it by signing in.
Deleting your account is about you, not a workspace. The messages and files you shared belong to the workspaces you shared them in, so they stay there, the way Slack and Microsoft Teams work.
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”If you own a workspace, it needs a new owner or has to be closed first:
- A workspace with other people in it: make someone else its owner in Workspace settings → People → Members. See Hand the workspace to a new owner.
- A workspace that’s only you: close it in Workspace settings → General → Workspace first. Once it’s closing, it no longer stops you.
Admins, members and guests can delete their account straight away.
Delete your account
Section titled “Delete your account”- Open Preferences → My account → Account and scroll to Delete account. It lists the workspaces you’ll leave, or what to do first.
- Tell us why you’re leaving, if you like.
- Click Delete my account and confirm. Freesbe asks you to verify it’s you first.
We email you the date the account will be deleted, and again a week before.
What happens right away
Section titled “What happens right away”- You’re signed out on every device, and your passkeys stop working.
- Apps you signed in to with Freesbe and AI agents you connected lose access.
- You leave every workspace you’re in. Each one shows you as Deactivated, and its audit log records that you deleted your account. Seats you used drop at the next renewal, as with anyone who leaves.
- Webhooks you created turn off, invite links you made stop working, and your phone line is turned off.
Change your mind
Section titled “Change your mind”Sign in with your email, password, sign-in code, Google or Microsoft within the 30 days. Freesbe shows Your account is scheduled for deletion and the date. Click Keep my account and everything personal is as you left it.
Your workspaces don’t come back by themselves: ask each workspace’s admins to reactivate you in Workspace settings → People → Members.
What we delete and what stays
Section titled “What we delete and what stays”After 30 days:
| Data | What happens |
|---|---|
| Your name, email address, profile picture, status and work details | Deleted |
| Your password, passkeys, authenticator app, Google or Microsoft link and sessions | Deleted |
| Your to-dos, drafts, scheduled messages, booking links, calendar connection, sounds and identity check result | Deleted |
| Exports you made | Deleted |
| Messages, files, reactions and time entries you left in workspaces | Stay in the workspace, under the name Former member |
| Meetings you organized and canvases you wrote | Stay in the workspace |
| A record that the account was deleted, and when | Kept 7 years, with no name or address: only a scrambled email (hash) |
Workspace admins can delete a former member’s messages, as they can anyone’s. Ask them if you want something gone.
Your email address is free again, so you can sign up with it later. That’s a new account: it doesn’t bring the old one back.
Backups roll off within 30 more days, so your data is gone from everywhere within 60 days of your request. See the privacy policy for how long we keep data.
Workspace data
Section titled “Workspace data”To get a copy of a workspace’s messages and files, its owners and admins can export the workspace before you leave.
